Why Mint Is A Must Have In Your Garden | ABIM Home Family Today

Do you grow fresh fruits and vegetables in your home? You can agree with me that a garden is one investment that gives you more than enough returns in terms of savings and fresh produce. All a garden needs is the initial investment. After this, it will give you returns for years to come.

When you have the luxury of going out into your yard and picking the vegetables and/or fruits that you need, you?re saving on gas to go to the grocery store, and you?re saving money from having to buy fruits and vegetables in the store. All you need to know is How To Grow Herb Garden?

On top of that, you get the added benefit of growing your food how you want to! Have you ever gone to the store and left absolutely disgusted by the ?options? in the produce section? Whether it?s because they were over ripe, too bruised, or just plain gross to look at; we?ve all had that happen.

It?s not that you can get a garden that produces the best yields in the world. Gardening is not for the faint hearted. But if you are up for the challenge, then your garden will very likely produce great yields. In addition, with extra effort, you can have it producing fresh produce for years on end.

Apart from the fruits and vegetables you can grow, you can also try out teas and spices. They will add a sweat aroma to your compound as well as go a long way in helping you save. Consider the amount of money you would save when you grow your own tea instead of going to the grocery store every week. The monthly expenses can be invested in your garden and you will have other months of saving. You will not have to buy your teas at the grocers anymore.

Spices are also not greatly priced, and the fact that you have to keep buying them over and over again can lead to spending that doesn?t need to happen. There are many spices that are good candidates for growing; cinnamon, while not technically a spice onion and garlic, basil, parsley, and last but not least mint.

Growing Mint is a perfect choice. Apart from being a spice, it can be used as a tea as well as an air freshener. The best part is that all you need to do is plant, water and occasionally spray it with some pesticides. The rest will be done by nature.

It is important to keep spraying it regularly to ensure that it is free from pests. As it is with us humans, there are some pests that love the Mint Leaf flavor. So spray to keep them from destroying your mint. Also, ensure that you do not consume the mint for at least a week after spraying to ensure the pesticide has worn off. If you do not have enough space to grow it outside, you can pot it indoors.
